President Trump’s Middle East peace plan has jolted regional dynamics, with Israel preparing to quickly annex West Bank land once expected to be part of a Palestinian state and key Arab leaders tentatively backing the U.S. initiative.
On Tuesday, I wrote an article where I said to "
look for the wildcard" as President Trump prepared to roll out his long-awaited Peace Plan at the White House. Here we are a scant 48 hours later, and we have our wildcard, and boy, it's a good one. Arab leaders across the Middle East in place like the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Saudi Arabia today are urging the Palestinians to
accept the Trump Peace Plan, and return to the negotiating table. Let that little nugget sink in for a moment, is that "
come up hither" sounding faintly in the distance?
"For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land." Let me just clear up something from the other day, as well, I am
not in favor of the
Two-State Solution or dividing Israel for any reason. For 10 years on this site, I have been the champion of biblical Israel, warning
against the Two-State Solution in all its various forms. And still am. But you know as well as I do that the Bible says that Israel will be divided, and the land parted.It cannot be stopped, it has to happen, and I believe we are watching the beginning stages of that right now.
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (KJB)
So as I began to meditate on those verses, a realization softly but firmly settled first in my mind, then in my soul, that it's time for prophesy to be fulfilled. It is time for us, the Body of Christ, to be removed from off this earth and to be caught up in the clouds with Jesus. Brothers and sisters, it's time for us to go. So with that, I give my full and complete support to the Trump Peace Plan, the Deal of the Century, because we are about to be caught up in the deal of eternity.
It's time now, Flight #777 awaits, let's go. Come get us, Lord, it's time.
Arab Leaders’ Support for Trump Peace Plan Marks a Regional Shift
FROM THE WSJ: For decades, Arab and Muslim leaders have held fast to the view that any deal with Israel should include a withdrawal of Israeli forces from Palestinian land, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with parts of East Jerusalem as its capital.
While many Middle East leaders still support those goals, officials in Arab capitals have been frustrated by Palestinian leaders’ reluctance to compromise on those points, which has prevented them from strengthening ties with Israel, officials in the region said.
The Trump administration has wooed officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, and other nations in the region in an effort to transcend the political impasse, and to some extent they are responding. The most important regional players—Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E.—both urged Palestinian leaders to accept the Trump plan as a basis for new talks with Israel, a move that would force them to make significant concessions, such as Israeli annexation of the Jordan Valley.
“What’s historic here is that it’s the first time, I think since the start of the conflict, that the Arab position has not been a replica of the Palestinian position,” said David Makovsky, director of the Project on Arab-Israel Relations at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. “That speaks to a wider sense of regional priorities that the Arab countries have, whether it is Iran, Yemen, Libya or closer ties with the U.S.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu moved swiftly after release of Tuesday’s plan to begin the process for annexing all Israeli settlements in the West Bank and parts of the Jordan Valley. Such a step would effectively cement Israel’s hold on land that has been one of the more divisive issues in previous peace talks.
Israeli leaders indicated on Wednesday that they might slow the annexations, but they have support from the Trump administration, making them likely to move ahead.
Even Saudi Arabia, perhaps the Arab world’s most important supporter of Palestinian appeals for an independent state, urged the Palestinians to accept the U.S. plan as the basis for new talks with Israel.
The U.A.E., Bahrain and Oman all sent their U.S. ambassadors to the White House on Tuesday, where their presence offered symbolic support for a plan that tilts heavily in Israel’s favor and rejects many longstanding Palestinian demands as non-negotiable. The U.A.E. called the Trump plan a serious initiative that should be an “important starting point for a return to negotiations.”
