As we have said many times over the years, rightly dividing is the key that unlocks the Bible so that you can get you hands on it and understand it. Without rightly dividing, any and all efforts to discern biblical truth past the most basic of subjects will be well nigh impossible. Entire false methods of interpretation like Preterism have grown up because rightly dividing was not know and if it was, not applied.
"Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness." 2 Timothy 2:14-16 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at some very well-known and prophetic Bible passages, and rightly dividing to glean from them the 1). historical application, 2). the spiritual application, and 3). the doctrinal application. Not all verses will have all three of these points, but all Bible prophecy contains 2 of them. When we understand these various components, and how they apply dispensationally, it is nearly impossible to come to a wrong conclusion. A good example of this is Christians who claim Isaiah 54:17 that 'no weapon formed against thee shall prosper', when in fact, weapons formed against Christians prosper all the time! Why? Because that passage doctrinally is made to the Jews and Israel when they are restored at the Second Coming.
