NTEB RADIO BIBLE STUDY: Having A Willing Mind And Heart After You Get Saved Is How You Will Discover God’s Personal Will For Your Life

by Geoffrey Grider

Tonight I want to show you from both the Old and New Testaments that you finding the will of God for your life depends a lot on, well, on how willing  you are to see it be accomplished.

Quite often, people will ask me how they might be able to find the will of God for themselves in their own lives, and the answer is simpler than it might appear. First, the Bible tells us that God 'will have all men to be saved', 1 Timothy 2:4, that's Step 1. Not hard, right? Step 2 is after you get saved, to have a 'willing mind', as you read in 2 Corinthians 8:12, still not so hard, right? The hard part is what comes after that.

"And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mindit is accepted according to that a man hathand not according to that he hath not." 2 Corinthians 8:10-12 (KJB)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at how to find the will of God for you in your life, a process so simple that many have overlooked it. Things become clear when we realize that God is not so much calling you to do a such and such a thing, but asking you the question are you willing to do such and such a thing. In Matthew 20:22, Jesus asked James and John if they were able to 'drink of the cup' of His suffering? They said quite confidently, 'we are able', but the truth is that they, at that time, they more willing than able. But by the time things were all done, James was executed for the Lord and John was banished on Patmos. Tonight I want to show you from both the Old and New Testaments that you finding the will of God for your life depends a lot on, well, on how willing  you are to see it be accomplished. This will be an excellent Bible study for Christians fearfully looking at the COVID confusion swirling all around us, and wondering what does God expect of us.
