The Taliban Tax Opium at Ten Percent--Following the Teachings of Umar

Umar Is the Revelation Rider on the Black Horse with a Pair Of Scales

The Pair of Scales Calculate Islam's Tax on Harvests--Just as Jesus Said in Revelation

And "Do Not Damage the Oil or the Wine"

IN AFGHANISTAN THE TALIBAN CONTROL MOST OF THE WORLD'S OPIUM PRODUCTION

As the Taliban advance, darkness has again descended on Afghanistan.  Jesus warned us about the demonic forces unleased from the Abyss, led by the beast from the Abyss, Baal, who now calls himself Allah.  The Taliban are following the teachings of the first four Islamic leaders (Mohammad, Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman). These four are the Four Horsemen of Revelation chapter six.

The Taliban also require the taxes of the rider on the Black Horse (Revelation 6:5-6) be paid to the Islamic State.

We see this Revelation prophecy fulfilled completely today!  Revelation said the tax was 10% (one quart of wheat out of 10 quarts for a days' wage).

THE TALIBAN COLLECT VAST SUMS WITH THE ISLAMIC 10% TAX ON HARVESTS

Islamic Kharaj Tax
Although there are a number of Islamic taxes instituted by Umar (the Zakat--a charity tax, the Jizya--a religious tax on non Muslins), one of the most important Islamic taxes is called Kharaj, which is a type of Islamic tax on agricultural land and its produce developed under Islamic Sharia law.  Since most people lived in an agrarian society in the times of the Islamic conquests, this tax applied to most people—especially most workers.  Kharaj refers to the land tax levied by the early Muslim rulers (the Four Horsemen of Revelation chapter 6).

In an ancient Arab papyrus document, when the Kharaj tax is paid in kind, such as with wheat or barely, it is called a “food tax.”

THE PAIR OF SCALES IN REVELATION DEPICT THE ISLAMIC TAXES INSTITUTED BY UMAR

Look carefully at what John wrote about the Third Seal with the Black Horse in Revelation 6:5-6:

Revelation 6:5-6 (NASB)
When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, “Come!” I looked, and behold, a black horse, and the one who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.  And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.”

What does a denarius have to do with this prophecy?   A denarius is a day's wages.  A days' wage was 10 quarts of wheat.

Since at normal prices a day’s wage would buy about 10 quarts of wheat, a one quart wheat tax (10% of the harvest) would give the new Islamic system a tax rate of about 10% of the daily wage, using normal grain prices.

Many Bible commentators have wrongly interpreted this text to mean that a day’s wage (a denarius) will only purchase a quart of wheat or three quarts of barley.  In ancient times, a denarius would normally buy about 10 quarts of wheat, and 2-3 times more in barley.  This interpretation of Revelation gives wheat prices about 10 times higher than normal, and they interpret this as a severe famine.  They believe Revelation describes a future condition where basic goods are sold at greatly inflated prices.  Thus, the Black Horse rider depicts a future time of deep scarcity or famine.  But they are incorrect in thinking this means famine.

You see John does not use any words to indicate a transaction such as the actual buying of grain or a purchase of something.  John does not indicate grain or food scarcity exist or are connected to wages.  He simply writes: “Two pounds {quart} of wheat for a day’s wages {denarius}, and six pounds (3 quarts} of barley for a day’s wages {denarius}.”  John does not write: “To buy a quart of wheat you must spend a day’s wage.”  John could have just as well meant: “You owe one quart of wheat to the Islamic caliphate (the kingdom of Baal the beast) in tax for earning a day’s wages of ten quarts of wheat.”

"AND DO NOT DAMAGE THE OIL OR THE WINE"

Umar did not damage the oil or the wine, just as Jesus gave in Revelation prophecy!

In Bible times a day’s wage would buy about 10 quarts of wheat, a one quart wheat tax (10% of the harvest) would give the new Islamic system a tax rate of about 10% of the daily wage, using normal grain prices.   The 10% tax is placed on labor related to raw crop grains such as wheat and barley, but finished products that are stored such as olive oil and wine were exempted by Umar.

Thus Umar did not tax oil or wine--just as Revelation predicted.

JESUS FULFILLED 351 OLD TESTAMENT PROPHECIES

The Old Testament, written hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth, contains at least 351 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled through His life, death and resurrection.  Mathematically speaking, the odds are staggering of anyone fulfilling a small amount of prophecy.  Fulfilling just 8 is impossible!
