"Dark money groups," according to Open Secrets, a nonprofit that tracks political campaign financing and lobbying, "spends millions to shape our elections without revealing where their money comes from." About lobbying, they wrote, "Companies, labor unions, trade associations and other influential organizations spend billions of dollars each year to lobby Congress and federal agencies.
