NTEB HOUSE CHURCH SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE: Jesus Did Not Only Bear Our Sin On The Cross At Calvary But He Became Sin For Us In Hell

by Geoffrey Grider

The apostles began in house churches during a time a tremendous persecution, and after 2,000 years of the gospel going all around the world, things are wrapping up exactly as they started. In house churches during a time of persecution.

The most-quoted verse in all the bible is John 3:16, and one of the reasons for that is the overwhelmingly positive affirmation of God's love for sinners, so much so that He gave His only begotten Son for us that we might be forgiven and go free. But what sometimes gets lost in that verse, and that's the verse I got saved on 30 years ago, is the horrific cost that salvation was provided at, a cost so brutal and mind-numbing it is something that is rarely preached from the pulpit. This morning I would like to bring you a message on the true cost of what Jesus had to do to purchase our pardon, not only on the Roman cross at Calvary, but in the events that took place in Hell after.

"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:20,21 (KJB)

Our service opens with the soul-stirring hymns of the faith, scripture read from the King James Bible, and a message preached on Heaven, Hell and the coming judgment, gathering together as a church family as the bible tells us to in these end days. The apostles began in house churches during a time a tremendous persecution, and after 2,000 years of the gospel going all around the world, things are wrapping up exactly as they started. In house churches during a time of persecution.
