NTEB HOUSE CHURCH SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE: We Don’t Serve God Out Of Duty So Much As Because He Is Worthy To Receive Honour And Praise

by Geoffrey Grider

Today I would like to bring you a message that may just radically change how you view serving God, not because you have to or because He forces us to, but because He is worthy to receive it.

King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 12 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." That's pretty good, but it's an Old Testament perspective where they had a corporate relationship with God as a nation, and not as individuals. Remember, no one in the Old Testament who died in faith was saved like you and I are saved, they went to Abraham's Bosom and not to Heaven right off.

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11 (KJB)

For those of us who are born again and part of the Body of Christ, our relationship with God is an intimate and personal relationship with Someone who loved us so much that He took our place on Calvary's cruel cross and died the death we deserve in our place. This is not the God of a far-distant Heaven speaking through prophets, this is the God of Heaven come down to earth, manifest in the flesh, someone we can see, and hear and touch! Hebrews tells us "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Today I would like to bring you a message that may just radically change how you view serving God, not because you have to or because He forces us to, but because He is worthy to receive it.
