NTEB HOUSE CHURCH SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE: We Have Found Him, Of Whom Moses In The Law, And The Prophets, Did Write, Jesus Of Nazareth! by Geoffrey Grider Andrew didn't know anything about soulwinning, had no idea what his "gifts" were, and had never read one word of the New Testament. But what he did know is that he found the Messiah, and brought his brother to come and meet Him. Not very complicated, is it? The next time you play Bible Trivia over coffee with friends, here is a great little piece of bible trivia to keep in your back pocket. Who was the very first soulwinner, the very first disciple to lead someone else to Jesus Christ? Why, it was Andrew in John 1, of course, and who did he lead? His brother, Simon Peter! "One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone." John 1:40-42 (KJB) Today is a very special day for me, it is the 30th anniversary of the time on March 14th, 1991, I bowed my knees and my heart and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour in full pardon and forgiveness of my sins. From the very beginning, the Lord made me a soul winner. The first time I ever preached I won someone to the Lord, soulwinning holds a very special place in my heart, and it is something we are all commanded to do. We are told to 'reproduce after our kind", right? Well, if you're a Christian you should be producing other Christians! So today, I want to bring you an encouraging message on the very first soulwinner in the New Testament, Andrew, who brought his brother Peter face to face with the Lord Jesus. Andrew didn't know anything about soulwinning, had no idea what his "gifts" were, and had never read one word of the New Testament. But what he did know is that he found the Messiah, and brought his brother to come and meet Him. Not very complicated, is it?
