NTEB RADIO BIBLE STUDY: What Does It Mean To Become Born Again, And Is It Something For The Jews And Israel Or For The Church?

by Geoffrey Grider

I had an NTEB reader write to me just this week with a multi-page letter showing me from the bible that being born again is not for Christians, but for the Jews and Israel. Could such a thing be true? Let's find out.

In John 3, we have somewhat of an anomaly as far as the gospels go, we see Jesus teaching something there that He does not mention in Matthew, Mark or Luke. Why would that be? Haven't we always been told that the 4 gospels are synoptic? Surprise, they are not. Matthew, Mark and Luke are, but John stands firmly with the apostle Paul. Mind blown yet? It gets better.

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." John 3:5-7 (KJB)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are going to pay a visit to that starry night where Nicodemus approached Jesus under cover of darkness, seeking to pay tribute to the Son of God, but in the process of doing so got way more than he bargained for. It was there that Jesus spoke doctrinally, dispensationally and prophetically on a topic that people are still debating 2,000 years later. I had an NTEB reader write to me just this week with a multi-page letter showing me from the bible that being born again is not for Christians, but for the Jews and Israel. She is not the first person to put forth this theological interpretation of being born again, and I am sure not the last. Tonight we will examine being born again, and we will apply rightly dividing as well as being dispensationally accurate.
